Ahead of hosting Journeys Ibiza Luxury Edition 2026, we spoke with Vanesa Regueira, General Manager of the resort, about the evolution of luxury travel, authentic experiences, and what makes this corner of Ibiza so special.

The definition of luxury has changed significantly. Today's travellers are looking for authenticity, privacy and experiences they simply cannot find elsewhere. While exceptional service remains essential, guests increasingly want meaningful connections with the destination and opportunities to experience local culture.

How does Cala San Miguel's location in the peaceful north of Ibiza shape the guest experience?

Responsible hospitality is embedded in everything we do. We work closely with local suppliers, continue to reduce single-use plastics, improve our energy efficiency and create experiences that celebrate Ibiza's natural beauty and cultural heritage.
For us, sustainability should enhance—not compromise—the guest experience, allowing visitors to enjoy the destination while contributing to its long-term preservation.

If someone is visiting Cala San Miguel Ibiza Resort for the first time, what experiences shouldn't they miss?
I'd recommend beginning the day with a nature hike or a yoga session overlooking the Mediterranean before setting off on a private excursion aboard our De Antonio yacht to discover Ibiza's spectacular coastline.
To finish the day, nothing compares to dinner at our Steakhouse while watching one of the island's unforgettable sunsets. Together, these experiences perfectly capture the relaxed yet sophisticated lifestyle that defines Cala San Miguel Ibiza Resort.
Finally, what is your favourite place within the resort?
That's a difficult question, but I'd have to choose our Cala San Miguel Beach House.
It's the perfect setting to enjoy exceptional cuisine, music and a sophisticated beachfront atmosphere. Spending the day swimming in the sea, enjoying one of Ibiza's finest rice dishes and relaxing on a Balinese daybed perfectly captures the balance of fun and tranquillity that defines the Cala San Miguel experience.
