It was the final day and we were headed off to the historic Park Hotel ai Cappuccini in Gubbio which is a convent from the seventeenth century that has been expertly restored. Steeped in history, the hotel boasts an abundant collection of artwork and trinkets, creating an immersive experience. The facilities, designed for maximum enjoyment, add the perfect touch to ensure a truly memorable stay. Throughout the day we had Minelli who are expert restaurators, showcase how they restore century old pieces of art.
The day was filled with meetings, with some suppliers giving their meetings gifts or treats from their region. What a way to make an encounter memorable. As aforementioned, the Park Hotel ai Cappuccini was truly a great place to talk business as you were surrounded by artwork and landscapes that inspired creativity.
The chef and his culinary team orchestrated a lunchtime extravaganza that transformed the room into a sensory haven. The room was a spectacle of indulgence, with tables filled with regional delights which released an irresistible aroma that teased the senses. As we settled in for a leisurely lunch, the air buzzed with conversations and every dish offered a new adventure for the taste buds. What dish stole the show and left you wanting seconds?
It was finally time for the experiences; truffle hunting with Giuliano and his expert dogs, Lola and Birba, and face gymnastics with Lucia Colaiacovo.
Giuliano instructed Lola and Birba to hunt for these prized truffles and within minutes they had found them! Although many people know already how truffles are sourced, seeing this live in a beautiful destination sealed the deal. Meanwhile, in the palestra, Lucia was telling us all about the different types of exercises you can do whilst applying your face cream or during your nightly routine before bed, so there's no excuse for us not to do them!
After these unique experiences, we ended our time at Park Hotel ai Cappuccini with some meetings still relishing in the adventure of the experience we had just previously done.
As the day completely unfolded, the delegates enjoyed a beautiful private concert at Posta Donini. But the excitement didn't stop there—Antonella Sgobba dropped a bombshell of good news. Brace yourselves for the next chapter, as Journeys in Italy 2024 will unfold in the charming Le Marche, Pesaro, hosted by none other than Lindbergh Hotels and Resorts! The anticipation is already brewing, and we're bubbling with ideas for an unforgettable 2024 program—can't wait to spill the beans!
After a delicious dinner, which involved a plentiful aperitivo bar, and three courses of mouth-watering food it was time to bring the event to a close. So what better way to do that than with a disco! We all danced the night away and celebrated the success of Journeys in Italy Inaugural event, safe to say we all fell asleep as soon as our heads hit the pillow!
