Inside the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola: where legacy, access and partnership meet

The first time you step onto the tarmac of the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola, you feel it instantly. This is not just a racetrack. It’s a place layered with history, emotion and speed — where motorsport has shaped culture, character and collective memory for generations.

My recent visit to the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari was nothing short of exhilarating.

Thanks to Luca Sandi of Modenatur, I was invited behind the scenes for a private tour of one of Italy’s most iconic venues, accompanied by the team who live and breathe this circuit every day. Experiencing Imola without the noise of race day strips everything back to what really matters: precision, heritage and purpose.

Imola is world-famous, of course, but what struck me most was how alive it feels. This is not a museum to past glory. The Autodromo is a living, evolving space — meticulously run, technologically advanced and deeply respectful of its legacy. From Formula 1 to historic racing, from corporate hospitality to cultural events, it remains one of Italy’s most powerful stages.

The sense of access made the visit exceptional. Standing on the podium in silence, climbing the staircases used by drivers moments after defining races, and walking through the control room where every corner of the circuit is monitored in real time brought a new appreciation for what it takes to operate a venue of this scale. Screens filled entire walls, each showing a different stretch of track — a reminder that behind every race lies absolute focus and responsibility.

Down in the garages, surrounded by race cars still carrying the visual language of competition, the Autodromo revealed its rawest energy. Concrete floors, colour-coded details, engineering precision and cars poised as if ready to move at any second. These are not static displays — they are part of a working ecosystem where performance is a daily discipline.

Even the quieter spaces tell stories. A simple red door marked “Podium”. A clean-lined wall mapping the circuit’s legendary turns — Tamburello, Villeneuve, Tosa. Corridors lined with photographs capturing defining moments, iconic drivers and emotional victories. Everywhere you look, Imola reminds you that motorsport here is as human as it is technical.

This level of access doesn’t happen by chance. It’s the result of Modenatur’s deep-rooted relationship with the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari and their role as its promoters. Modenatur doesn’t simply organise visits; they frame experiences. Every space, every story, every encounter is contextualised in a way that allows you to truly understand why a place like Imola matters.

This visit was made possible thanks to Luca Sandri, Sales Co-ordinator at Modenatur, whose deep knowledge of the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari and long-standing relationship with the circuit team opened the doors to a truly privileged experience. Accompanied by Luca and the Autodromo staff, I was able to explore Imola in a way few people ever do — unhurried, personal and rich with insight.

Modenatur is far more than a DMC. It is a curator of authentic experiences within Italy’s Motor Valley, with unparalleled insight into its people, venues and heritage. Luca has been part of the Journeys story since the very beginning — first as a client, then as a trusted partner — and his approach has always mirrored our own belief that meaningful connections are built through shared, well-considered experiences.

What Modenatur does exceptionally well is create access with intention. Not rushed. Not superficial. Their experiences are designed to resonate, to stay with you, and to build genuine relationships — the very essence of the Fam-Meet® way of doing business.

Standing together at the Autodromo, it became immediately clear how naturally our visions align. Which is why I am genuinely excited to share that Modenatur will be one of the major partners for Journeys Italy 2026. Having Luca and his team alongside us as promoters and main sponsors feels like a full-circle moment — a relationship built on trust over time, now evolving into something even more ambitious.

ourneys Italy 2026 will be about showcasing Italy through access, emotion and memory-making experiences. There are few places that embody those values more powerfully than the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola — and few partners better placed to bring that vision to life than Modenatur.

As I left the track that day, the engines silent but the energy still tangible, I was reminded exactly why Journeys exists. To bring people together in places that matter, with partners who believe in doing things properly — and for the long term.

The road to Journeys Italy 2026 has officially begun. And starting it at Imola felt exactly right.

Ciao a presto

Micaela and the Journeys Team
