A Fifth Year Together: Costa del Sol Returns as Luxury Travel Enters a New Era

Some destinations have been part of the Journeys story for so long that it's difficult to imagine our events without them. Costa del Sol is one of those destinations.

As Costa del Sol returns to join us at Journeys North America 2027 and Journeys United Kingdom 2027, we are proud to celebrate a fifth consecutive year of partnership with a destination that has been with us since the very beginning and continues to evolve alongside the changing world of luxury travel.

In fact, our journey together started long before Journeys became an international community. Our very first event took place in the stunning town of Ronda, where Costa del Sol helped bring our vision to life. Delegates explored the city's iconic Puente Nuevo, visited the beautiful Reservatauro estate, experienced Andalusian culture first-hand, and even took to the skies in a sunrise hot air balloon ride over the dramatic landscapes surrounding the city. From those early days, the destination recognised the value of meaningful connections, authentic experiences, and doing business differently - values that continue to define Journeys today.

Our buyers are increasingly seeking authentic experiences, local culture, wellbeing, gastronomy, and meaningful connections with the destinations they visit. Costa del Sol has embraced this shift while staying true to everything that has made it such a compelling destination for decades.

While the region remains famous for its coastline and year-round sunshine, Costa del Sol continues to broaden its appeal through cultural experiences, outdoor adventures, local gastronomy, sustainable tourism initiatives, and the promotion of its charming inland towns and villages. Recently celebrating 50 years of tourism promotion with a refreshed destination identity, the destination continues to balance heritage with innovation.

This balance between tradition and innovation is one of the reasons Costa del Sol continues to resonate so strongly with our luxury buyer community.

Of course, much of that success is thanks to Renée Kachler, Natalia Bóveda and the wider Costa del Sol Tourism Board team. Over the years, they have become familiar faces within the Journeys community, bringing the destination to life through thoughtful and memorable activations that always feel authentic to the place they represent.

Many of these experiences have become Journeys favourites. From flamenco performances in Houston and Jamón Serrano blind tastings in New York to unforgettable Spanish dining experiences in Niagara Falls and London, Costa del Sol has consistently found creative ways to transport delegates to southern Spain.

As we look ahead to Journeys North America 2027 and Journeys United Kingdom 2027, we are delighted to welcome Costa del Sol back for a fifth year. Their continued involvement reflects not only the strength of our partnership but also a shared belief in the power of authentic connections and experience-led travel.

From the hills of Ronda to the international stages of London and North America, Costa del Sol has been part of the Journeys journey every step of the way.
