Journeys Team's Site Visit to Houston: Getting Ready for an Amazing Event in 2025

This week, Alex and I went on an exciting trip to Houston to plan for our upcoming event from 28 April to 1 May 2025. The amazing team at Visit Houston hosted us, and we had the chance to experience the very best of the city in terms of luxury, culture, and real Texan hospitality. Meanwhile, Charlotte, Nicoletta, and Alessia held the fort back at Journeys HQ, keeping everything running smoothly.

As I write this from The Post Oak Hotel, I’m getting ready to head to the airport for my flight back to London—what a shame I already have to go!

A Warm Welcome at The Post Oak Hotel

Our trip started with a wonderful welcome at The Post Oak Hotel in Uptown, Houston’s only AAA Five-Diamond hotel. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by luxury and top-notch service. As I walked in, I was greeted by many familiar faces, including the fantastic doorbell man Kourtney, whose warm welcome I even uploaded on Instagram. The hotel is stunning, and our corner rooms had breathtaking city views. We also had a great meeting with Team Post Oak, including the wonderful Steve and Nadia, in one of their beautiful meeting rooms overlooking the Houston skyline.

Exploring Houston’s Best Spots

During our visit, we also had the pleasure of meeting Michael from Frosch. He took us to see the Houstonian Club and even provided us with passes to experience its incredible facilities. With Michael, we also visited the Frosch offices, where we met many of his colleagues. It was such a special moment to briefly meet Richard Leibman. To meet the visionary behind Frosch, whose leadership and influence have shaped such a remarkable company, was a real privilege. Even in just a short interaction, his presence and passion for the industry were truly inspiring. It was fascinating to step into the first original offices of Frosch, seeing where it all began for such a prestigious travel company.

Our incredible hosts—Amanda, Paul, Ashley, and Laura—took us on a tour of some of the best places in Houston. One of the highlights was our visit to the Wortham Theater, a truly impressive space that hosts some of the city’s best performances.

We also visited the Houston Museum of Natural Science, which completely amazed us, especially the incredible dinosaur exhibits. Seeing these massive creatures up close was an unforgettable experience!

A Taste of Houston’s Best Food

Houston’s food scene did not disappoint! We had a special lunch at The Grove, a gorgeous glass-enclosed restaurant with fantastic views of Discovery Green. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was just perfect.

A Deep Dive into Texas Ranch Life

Another highlight of our visit was Texas Ranch Life, where we got a true taste of Texas culture. This working ranch offers an authentic cowboy experience, with horseback riding, longhorn cattle drives, and the opportunity to see daily ranch operations firsthand. The vast open landscapes, the welcoming team, and the rustic charm made it a truly immersive experience. We learned about the history of Texas ranching, the importance of preserving these traditions, and even got a chance to meet some real-life cowboys who shared stories of their way of life. The authenticity and hospitality at Texas Ranch Life were truly unforgettable, making it a must-visit for anyone wanting a genuine Texas adventure.

A Memorable Dinner and Familiar Faces

Before our official site visit, we returned to Kiran’s for dinner and had the pleasure of meeting the talented chef again. It was great seeing her and reflecting on last year’s fantastic event. We reminisced about our experiences there and promised to bring the Journeys team back for another amazing evening in April. It was great seeing her and reminiscing about last year’s fantastic event. A Little Shopping Adventure

After hours, Alex and I also managed to explore the massive shopping mall next to The Post Oak Hotel. The mall was absolutely huge, offering everything from high-end luxury stores to local boutiques. It was a great way to experience another side of Houston, and we couldn’t believe how much there was to see and do!

A Sweet Farewell

To end our trip on a high note, we met the incredible Shandra from Visit Houston. As a small token of appreciation, we gifted everyone some Fortnum & Mason chocolates—a little taste of London and our Journeys HQ.

After this incredible visit, we are even more excited for Journeys Houston in 2025. With such a fantastic city, wonderful venues, and an outstanding team supporting us, we know this event will be unforgettable. A huge thank you to Visit Houston, The Post Oak Hotel, and everyone who made this visit so special—we can’t wait to be back!
