Where Luxury Meets Legacy: Preparing for Journeys Ibiza Luxury Edition

Taking place from the 7 to the 10 October, Journeys Ibiza Luxury Edition is the boutique luxury travel event bringing together the finest global travel suppliers and high-end travel buyers from North America and Europe. Hosted in partnership with Ibiza Luxury Destination and designed around a series of curated one-to-one appointments and immersive experiences that elevate Ibiza as a premium destination, the event is now entering its final planning stages.
From June 24 to 27, my colleagues Micaela, Alessia, and I travelled to Ibiza for a pivotal site visit to finalise the venues and partnerships for this exciting first edition - ensuring that every detail aligns with our vision of delivering an unparalleled luxury travel experience.
A Warm Welcome at 7Pines Resort Ibiza Our home base during the site visit was the exquisite 7Pines Resort Ibiza, perched atop the cliffs of Ibiza’s west coast with breath-taking views of the Mediterranean and the iconic
Es Vedrà island. The resort offered the perfect balance of privacy, luxury, and authenticity - a true reflection of what Journeys Ibiza Luxury Edition stands for.
The rooms at 7Pines are truly outstanding. Each suite features its own kitchen, living room, and private terrace, allowing guests to feel at home while enjoying the luxury of their surroundings. The resort’s pool area is equally spectacular - a serene space with panoramic views that invites guests to unwind and take in the beauty of the island.
Breakfast at 7Pines quickly became one of our favourite rituals. With a stunning spread each morning, we found ourselves indulging in freshly prepared local delicacies - including what became our daily go-to: jamón serrano, enjoyed with coffee and that unmistakable Ibiza morning light. It was such a simple pleasure, but one that set the tone for each day beautifully.
We are especially excited to be partnering with 7Pines Resort Ibiza, and would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Daniele, Lilla, and Laura for their warm welcome, expert guidance, and unwavering support throughout our visit. Their enthusiasm and attention to detail made a lasting impression, and their commitment to excellence gives us full confidence in what’s to come. We are particularly grateful that 7Pines will be hosting all the travel buyers attending Journeys Ibiza Luxury Edition - their involvement is not only central to the event’s success, but also sets the tone for the unforgettable experience we aim to deliver.
Exploring the Event Venues
Our visit to Hotel Riomar in Santa Eulalia was such a refreshing experience. The place has this incredibly free-spirited, independent vibe that makes you want to slow down and truly soak in the Ibiza lifestyle. There’s this beautiful balance between wellness and celebration, all wrapped in an atmosphere that feels timeless and calm. I especially loved the design—mid-century interiors that honour the building’s history, softened by a neutral, minimalist palette that mirrors the island’s natural colours. It felt serene and elegant without trying too hard. The Tribe event space really stood out to us - it has sand on the floor, which felt like a perfect nod to our own Tribe platform at Journeys. We’re thrilled that Hotel Riomar will be sponsoring our opening reception, and it was a real pleasure meeting Mari and Belén, who welcomed us with such warmth and energy.
Cala San Miguel truly felt like a retreat in every sense of the word. Nestled on a cliff in the north of the island, it’s a place where time slows down and you’re completely surrounded by nature. The views of the sea and mountains are absolutely stunning - every corner of the resort seems to be designed to help you reconnect and unwind. What I appreciated most was how the spaces are rooted in local architecture and organic materials; the rooms are full of light, and everything just feels soft, peaceful, and effortless. We toured the property with Vanessa and Álvaro, who showed us the beautiful El Paseo Terrace where we’ll be hosting one of the dinners during the event. Their passion for the resort - and for making this dinner special - was clear from the moment we arrived. It’s the kind of place you don’t want to leave.
Our stop at Destino Five Ibiza felt like discovering a hidden gem - even though it’s just minutes from Talamanca and the port. Set high on the cliffs of Cap Martinet, it’s luxurious but totally in tune with nature. The villa-style layout, surrounded by tropical gardens and huge glass windows, makes it feel both expansive and intimate. There’s a real sense of flow between the indoor and outdoor spaces that’s hard to describe - it just feels right. And then there’s Playa Pacha, the pool at the centre of it all. It’s bold, it’s stylish, and it captures that unmistakable energy that makes Ibiza so iconic.
Naroa from the Pacha Group gave us a fantastic tour of the newly refurbished space, and it completely exceeded our expectations. We’re absolutely thrilled that Destino Five Ibiza will be sponsoring our closing dinner, followed by evening entertainment at their very own TOX Club - a venue that perfectly captures Ibiza’s legendary nightlife spirit. It’s shaping up to be a spectacular finale to what promises to be an unforgettable edition of Journeys.
Cultural Immersion in Ibiza's Old Town
To round out the visit, we spent time exploring some of Ibiza’s cultural and civic landmarks as part of a detailed site inspection - since we’ll be hosting a programme of one-to-one meetings and an exclusive lunch for our guests in the heart of the old town. We were warmly welcomed by Zélia and Jose from Ibiza Luxury and Fomento del Turismo, and joined by Tomás from the Ayuntamiento de Ibiza for a guided walk through these stunning venues.
MACE – Museum of Contemporary Art: A beautiful space nestled within the fortified walls of Dalt Vila. It’s one of Spain’s oldest contemporary art museums, and it radiates calm and creativity.
Baluarte de Santa Lucía: This historic bastion offers some of the most impressive views over the harbour and is steeped in local heritage.
Ibiza Town Hall: Housed in a centuries-old convent, the building sits at the heart of the old town and feels symbolic of Ibiza’s cultural depth.
We’re incredibly excited to bring this corner of Ibiza into the event programme and are truly grateful for the generosity and collaboration of everyone who took the time to welcome us.
Celebrating with Ibiza Luxury Destination
During our visit, we also had the pleasure of attending the annual Ibiza Luxury Destination event, which this year marked its 15th anniversary. Held in the evening at the beautiful Cala San Miguel Resort, the celebration brought together an incredible mix of guests - from private sector leaders and politicians to celebrities and personalities from a wide range of industries beyond just travel.
The event was led by Ibiza Luxury Destination’s President, Nuria Moreno, and honoured several of the organisation’s key partners with awards in recognition of their contributions to promoting Ibiza as a high-end destination. It was a fantastic evening filled with energy, connection, and celebration - with outstanding food and drinks that made it even more memorable. We were proud to be a part of it and left feeling even more inspired by the strength of the local community and the spirit of collaboration that defines Ibiza’s luxury offering.
Looking Ahead
This site visit confirmed what we’ve believed from the beginning: that Ibiza is not just a destination, but an experience - and one that fits perfectly with the spirit of Journeys. The warmth, creativity, and excellence of our partners across the island have laid a beautiful foundation for what’s to come.
